happy easter

happy easter 2013
4 days off to celebrate whatever easter means to you. my mum has always made easter pretty special for us girls and i still remember the little easter hunts she made us when we were little. we would follow the trails of rose petals and eventually come across a massive amount of little eggs and a big special one. i do remember one year- we, most me, were dragged up the tararuas to a look out and  "there was no easter eggs until we made it to the top" and to my great disappointment 1 little marshmallow egg was all we got as easter eggs weren't the priority in our day pack!

as we have got older, the hunts may have gone but we have always had a special nest put together for us to nibble on. when i was at ashburn mum made a sweet little package and sent it down to me. it was awful being away from the family at easter. this easter is the first one that i have been home for in a while. last year i was at creds and the years before at ashburn.

easter is never an easy celebration, abit like christmas and birthdays as they predominately revolve around food and goodies galore. i always loved these celebrations as a kid and teenager as i absolutely loved food. when i become unwell these celebrations have become quite hard, not because i don't want the chocolate, it is just hard to allow myself to have some. it's naughty.
sounds ridiculous......
i hope where ever you are, you manage to make time for yourself, celebrate easter and enjoy time with your family.
