the sun has been out for the past few days and the heat in the sun has been extremely warm. i even got a little sun on the backs of my legs and arms. but really they needed it as i am the colour of a "ghost" my sister told me. once xmas is over with it means the summer holiday begins. yesterday i went to greytown with a good friend and it was packed with city goers escaping the city. the line for gelato was huge but we waited as it was far to hot for a coffee and the flavours available were lovely. i had a wildberry and my friend a double chocolate. gelato seems to have overtaken ice creams and new little gelato shops are popping up everywhere. karen, a uk born lady has just opened a little shop 'it's quite cool' which specialises in on site handmade gelato and sorbet. camping, swimming in the river, bush walks and bbqs are what symbolise a NZ summer. so long may it last....
