picking the last of the summer flowers and popping them into a vase makes for the best therapy i think. there are some bright colours and a variety of tpyes- hydrangeas, roses, lavender and penstemons. i have a real liking for hydrangeas at the moment especially the small white variety (i am not sure of the actual 'floral' name!). anyway i suggest popping outside and picking a few blooms when you are feeling blue. trust me it helps.
