sunday bliss

dunedin has brought us yet another sunny warm day. all the lambs are growing fast and the rhodos are in full bloom, as this week is the rhododendron festival. no doubt mum will want to drag us around the botanic gardens to see all the trees in blossom.

a special friend of mine is moving on to bigger and better things so i made her, her favourite chocolate brownies, which i decided to adapt... bloomin' brilliant brownies! by adding extra bits of dark chocolate and soaked prunes. pure decadence.

with xmas not too far away, i am beginning to think about what i will make for people this year as generally it takes some time to think of the perfect thing. however, there are some great new books out in the bookshops: nigellas kitchen, jamies 30min dinners, annabelles free range cook, leonard cohens bio, the passage and they are just a few.
